Napoleon Bistro's Switcheroo; Melt Shop Sells Out

ADAMS MORGAN—Napoleon Bistro isn't going to be a French bistro anymore. Instead, the owners tell the Washington Post that the shop will remodel and reopen as an Afghan restaurant on March 21 with a new name and new menu. [WaPo]

K STREET— On its opening day, Melt Shop ran out of food very quickly. They tweeted: "Hey DC..thank u so much for the warm welcome..sorry but we are currently out of food for the day..see u tomorrow!" The grilled cheese restaurant offered its food for half-off for the opening. [Twitter]

MIDDLEBURG—Winery and pizzeria Quattro Goomba is getting into brewing. WTOP reports that the restaurant will open a 6,000 square-foot brewery at the end of this month. [WTOP]

COLLEGE PARK—Tim Carman memorializes the soon-to-close Ratsie's, seller of greasy pizza and a fixture for kids at the University of Maryland. "Ratsie’s is like that out-of-step scout, not the least bit interested in some clean, fast-casual concept with its beet-and-goat-cheese salad, 24-hour fermented dough and a long-term business plan to expand up and down the East Coast." ARLINGTON—A Facebook post confirms that Urban Pantry in Arlington has closed, according to Northern Virginia magazine. The shop sold gelato, sandwiches and groceries. [NoVa]

CLARENDON—No more giant mugs of cheap beer at Hunan Number One this week, ARLnow reports. The restaurant is closed for remodeling and will reopen Friday. [ARLnow]
