Hans Pedr' Kaffe has closed in Adams Morgan. The owner posted this message on the cafe's Facebook page:

"I am very sorry to announce tonight the closure of Hans Pedr' Kaffe. Economic climate, neighborhood shift... Whatever it is... We could not continue to operate under the current conditions. For those of you who came, THANK YOU. For those of you who loved it, I AM SORRY. This is not at all how I wanted this to go. I wish more of you would have come more often and loved it as much as we did. It's been a hard week for me and my staff. I appreciate the care and concern of my neighbors. There are great people in Adams Morgan. I was honored, as a Capitol Hill girl, to be made to feel so welcome in this neighborhood. I will miss you all. Once the dust settles, I'll come back. For now, I will refocus my energies on my family and my bakery - who have so patiently watched on the sidelines as I tried to make a go at this cafe.
Again. I thank you all for your interest and patronage this last year. It was a risk worth taking. Let the next chapter begin.
Better times and much love to all."

The cafe was located at 1781 Florida Ave. NW.
