The Graham Georgetown hotel's The Alex, a new restaurant and lounge named after inventor Alexander Graham Bell, opens today. In the morning, diners and hotel guests can head to The Alex for breakfast, and in the evening, the restaurant will serve small plates, craft cocktails and wine.
Designed by Swatchroom, The Alex incorporates a "early 20th Century ‘Steam-Punk’ aesthetic," as the press release describes it, with a black, bronze and emerald green color scheme and a very Steam-Punk twenty-foot brass pipe ceiling installation. Status: Opening today; 1075 Thomas Jefferson St. NW; website.
