After two months of renovations, 1905 is ready to reopen February 17, though the restaurant will make a brief cameo before that for Valentine's Day.
1905 upgraded its kitchen and refreshed its dining room decor as well. The majority of the changes won't be noticeable to guests cosmetically, but the kitchen upgrade gives more flexibility to chef Joel Hatton. He'll roll out a new winter menu when the restaurant reopens, with dishes like local mushroom toast with porcini mayo and fried catfish with black-eyed peas. Here's the new menu.
Bartender Lyn Holland left the restaurant during the transition, but many staffers spent time working at sister restaurant El Camino. On Valentine's Day, diners will get a sneak peek at the reopened restaurant, should they dine there with a three course, $45 prix fixe menu.
