Jaleo DC Launches Sangria Hour; Bombay Club's James Beard House Dinner

Essential 2015 eats, millennial-friendly hand-sliced ham at the upcoming AC Hotel by Marriott and more.

NEW YORK—Restaurateur Ashok Bajaj hosted a dinner at the James Beard House yesterday to celebrate Bombay Club, his first Washington restaurant, which opened in 1988. The menu included dishes like cinnamon braised lamb shanks, chaat pakodi, mustard scallops with tomato cilantro chutney and carrot pudding with saffron anglaise. [EaterWire]

PENN QUARTER—Jaleo's D.C. location is debuting a Sangria Hour with $5 glasses of sangria and $25 sangria pitchers. It's going to be Sunday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the bar and will also include $3 traditional Spanish bar snacks, a rotating $5 cocktail, $4 mini flautas and $3 cañitas of beer.
