Rito Loco is on track to open its first brick and mortar restaurant in May.

The popular food truck, which serves about 100 people an hour during peak times, will offer an expanded menu at its restaurant, coming to 606 Florida Ave. NW, in Shaw. They're hoping to kick off construction this Monday, owner Louie Hankins said. They'll offer five tacos at the restaurant, with fillings like fish, lobster and a vegetarian option. They'll also serve "fitness bowls" with quinoa instead of rice.

Hankins is looking to open 15-20 locations in the D.C. area over the next five to seven years, as well as locations in South Florida, San Francisco and Europe.
