What: DNV launches its poolside brunch this weekend. Dishes like chicken and waffles get an Asian twist.

2) Spring Wine Fling

What: The Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington is running a program to showcase its members' wine programs with special flights, pairings and tastings. More info here.

3) Cheap Paella at Jaleo

Where: All Jaleo locations

When: Friday

What: Jaleo is offering its signature paella dish for $6 (it's usually only available as a large format option). They're also doing a paella cooking demo at the Crystal City location today at 4 p.m. using their giant paella pan.

4) Sri Lankan Cooking Class

Where: The Hill Center

When: Saturday at 11 a.m.

What: Chef Skiz Fernando is leading a class on rice dishes and currys, as well as other Sri Lankan basics. Tickets are $75. More info here.

5) Cherry Picks

When: All weekend (and through April 20)

What: This weekend's kite festival on the National Mall is a good excuse to sample some of the various cherry, Asian and blossom-themed dishes restaurants are offering in conjunction with the National Cherry Blossom festival. More info here.
