Falls Church is getting a new, gluten-free bakery. Del Rey's The Happy Tart, which offers bread, cakes, cupcakes, cake pops and French pastries without gluten, is opening a second location. Construction on the new cafe at 410 South Maple Avenue started today.
The Falls Church bakery and cafe is anticipated to open in the early summer, owner Emma Cech told Eater DC. It will have 20 seats inside and outdoor seating for 20. And the plan for Happy Tart's new location is to add more savory options like quiches, as well as a coffee program.
