Construction and renovation continues to chug along at Mad Fox Brewery’s planned Glover Park taproom at 2218 Wisconsin Avenue, NW. The project was first announced in 2013, but construction and permitting issues have delayed the process considerably.
No definite opening date has been revealed, but CEO and Executive Brewer Bill Madden said in a conversation earlier this week that progress is moving along pretty quickly, and that the hope is to finish construction in April.and open shortly after that. "It’s just been quite an experience and it’s been way too long in permitting and construction," Madden said. "We can’t wait to get it open."
Madden also said that the renovations also revealed many architectural features of the building, including a fireplace that had been plastered over years prior. The plan is now to use it as a feature of the upstairs bar. When the second Mad Fox opens, customers can expect a selection of 16 draft beers, along with three cask ales. A full food menu will also be available.
