The Embassy Row Hotel in Dupont Circle will unveil its extensive $15 million renovation on March 18, and that overhaul includes a new restaurant in the hotel's lobby called Station Kitchen & Cocktails. The hotel tapped Peter Kloiber to lead the restaurant and the hotel's dining program as Chef de Cuisine.

Kloiber comes to The Embassy Row Hotel from Marcel’s, where he worked as sous chef. His resume includes The Federalist restaurant at the Madison Hotel and Vidalia, under the direction of Jeff Buben and R.J. Cooper.

Under Kloiber’s direction, Station Kitchen & Cocktails plans to hop on the small plates trend, serving creative versions like Wellington meatballs, tuna casserole and Korean chicken lollipops at communal tables. There will be a bottled cocktails program too, to appeal to the happy hour crowd.

During the day, Station Kitchen & Cocktails will serve Compass Coffee, baked goods from Union Kitchen, as well as ready-made sandwiches and locally-made snacks.
