Opening Report: SER, Baroak and More Debut

A Spanish restaurant for Ballston, a new hotel restaurant and Teddy Folkman expands to Annapolis.

1) Ballston: It's soft opening night for SER, the new Spanish restaurant arriving in Ballston. The restaurant specializes in traditional dishes like paella and roast pig, with a homey design and a solid happy hour. Food is 20 percent off through March 11, after which the restaurant will officially open. Status: Soft opening tonight. 1110 N. Glebe Rd. Arlington, Va; website.

2) Alexandria: Alexandria's first Hilton Garden Inn has opened its doors. On the restaurant front, the hotel offers The Garden Grille and Bar, which has full breakfast and dinner menus and cocktails. Status: Certified open. 1620 Prince Street, Alexandria, Va.; website.

3) Annapolis: In further-flung Annapolis, D.C.'s own Teddy Folkman branches out with the opening of Baroak tonight. The restaurant is modeled after Europe's pubs and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Flatbreads, mussels, burgers and more can be found on the menu. Find it in the Loews Annapolis hotel.
