Cava Grill has raised $16 million in funding from investors.

The local, fast-casual Mediterranean chain will announce the funding today, which is led by SWaN & Legend Venture Partners, as well as some new investors.

The funds will fuel the company's expansion to Los Angeles (its first market outside of the D.C. area), where it plans to open multiple locations. They'll also be able to expand their retail line of dips and spreads (now sold in Whole Foods) with the money, with plans to bring them outside the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast into Chicago and the Midwest this year.

Cava Grill has grown locally to to eleven locations over the past several years, in D.C., Maryland and Virginia.
