The annual Sweetlife Festival at Merriweather Post Pavilion near Washington, D.C. isn't just about the food. Now a two-day festival this year, chefs ranging from Toki Underground's Erik Bruner-Yang to ThinkFoodGroup's José Andrés will be part of the concessions lineup for the event.
The event will feature a chef's corner, where Bruner-Yang and Andrés will appear alongside Momofuku Milk Bar representatives, Nick Wiseman of DGS Delicatessen and Spike Gjerde of Woodberry Kitchen, among others. Blue Hill is also creating a special burger for the event.
Handling other concessions: a mix of national and local vendors, including Luke's Lobstser, Chaia Tacos, Heavy Seas Brewery, Pete's New Haven-Style Apizza and more. Flying Dog will again collaborate with the event on a special beer (alcoholic beverages will be served at the festival's Tavern). Naturally, there will be salads from the festival's creator, Sweetgreen, as well.
Food trucks such as one from D.C.'s new Maketto restaurant, as well as Andrés' Pepe Truck, Takorean, Pho Wheels and others will handle mobile concessions. There will be a marketplace with artisan vendors like Dolcezza Gelato, Gordy's Pickle Jar and Vigilante Coffee.
The Sweetlife Festival is scheduled for May 30 and 31 of this year. Tickets are available online. The full food lineup is below.
