Arlington Will Get More Noodles When Gaijin Ramen Opens

Kite Runner Cafe, the Afghan restaurant in Arlington, will close this afternoon. Owner Homayon Karimy opened restaurant two years ago to generally positive reception after a long tenure at Lebanese Taverna.

Karimy told ARLNOW he sold the business to spend more time with his family. He plans to take some time off, finish school and then return to the hospitality industry.

Gaijin Ramen shop will open in the space in about a month. It's the second ramen shop slated for Arlington— Yona in Ballston was announced last November, and is expected to open this summer from chef Jonah Kim.
