Korean Pop-Up at Compass Rose; New Z Burger Opens

Plus, Republic Restoratives Distillery will make bourbon and Shoo-Fly in Baltimore closes.

U STREET— The Compass Rose team is collaborating with chef Danny Lee of Mandu and chef Jesse Miller of Bar Pilar and Cafe Saint-Ex for a Korean Night Market pop-up. There will be karaoke and Korean street food like spicy rice cakes, barbecue short ribs, and noodles for $20 per ticket. There will also be a cash bar serving Korean beer and cocktails. The event takes place at Compass Rose on Thursday, May 21 from 7p.m. until 10p.m. [EaterWire]

DUPONT CIRCLE— PoPville reports the new Z Burger is now open on P Street in the former vFalafel storefront. [PoP]

IVY CITY— Republic Restoratives Distillery will open this summer. Washington City Paper reports that they’ll make bourbon and a "charcoal-polished" vodka. They recently exceeded their Indiegogo goal of $75,00 and are now hoping to raise $100,000. [WCP]

BALTIMORE— Shoo-Fly will close in Belvedere Square. Co-owner and James Beard Award-winning chef Spike Gjerde told the Baltimore Sun it might reopen with a different concept in the Belvedere Square Building. [BS]
