Uprising Muffins Goes for Dessert Glory with 'The Upwich'

It's an ice cream muffin sandwich, released in time for its one year anniversary.

Today in glorious food mash-ups, Donnie Simpson Jr. of Uprising Muffins has created an ice cream muffin sandwich.

The Upwich puts a big scoop of ice cream between two muffin crowns. They'll offer it in two flavors: chocolate chip with vanilla ice cream and double chocolate with vanilla ice cream. The price is $4.99.

The bakery just celebrated one year in business and shared a few stats about their first year:

515,318: Ounces of coffee sold
134,440: Number of muffins sold
More than 13,000: Bacon, Egg and Cheese muffins sold.
11,250: Pounds of flour used
