Justin Hampton joined Poste as head bartender in March. He's a veteran of Jack Rose and its reservation-only basement bar, Dram & Grain.
Hampton is also an avid gardener and currently caring for the edible plants growing on Poste's patio. They include peppers, five types of basil and herbs. At home, he also grows wormwood for making vermouth.
The bartender's penchant for herbs is evident in the Basil Lemontini made with basil-infused vodka and lemon or Sight for Sorrel Eyes with tequila, sorrel, cucumber, and lime. Poste's cocktail menu will change for the summer on June 1.
