The wait for Sally’s Middle Name, a small plates bistro replacing the former Pizza Parts & Service at 1320 H Street NE, is getting shorter. Chef Sam Adkins and his wife Aphra Adkins are now on track to open June 3.
The sample menu items listed on the restaurant’s website focus on local and seasonal ingredients. Right now they include berber goat chili with fried nuts, currants, and whipped coconut cream and poached sablefish with escabeche.
The Sally’s Middle Name team will preview their cuisine at a pop-up Mother’s Day Brunch at Toki Underground this Sunday, May 10 from 10:30am until 3:00pm. The a la carte menu items will range in price from $5 - $12. They plan to serve dishes like mushroom and ramp frittata with lemon ricotta and toasted cinnamon babka with strawberry and rhubarb compote. They're accepting walk-ins only.
