Bethesda Barbecue Company filled with smoke last week and was evacuated following an electrical accident reports Bethesda MagazineIt all started when Pepco workers struck a nearby power line and blew out some of the restaurant's refrigeration units and ventilation system.

The restaurant closed for about a week for equipment repairs, and it was a blow to the restaurant's finances. Owner Dan Friedman was relying heavily on daily revenue after changing restaurant concepts from fine dining to barbecue earlier this year.

Bethesda Barbecue Company is currently open while Friedman seeks compensation from Pepco and his insurance company. But he's worried the check won't arrive soon enough.
