Was it the Texas transplants who did it? With nine days of fundraising left to go, Republic Kolache Co. has met its Kickstarter goal of $10,000.
The company plans to bring the Texas-style pastry to Washington. They've already appeared at pop-up events promoting the product. They'll stick with both traditional flavors and more unusual ones (a half-smoke kolache, for example, is in the works).
The company plans to use its funds for equipment, R&D investment costs and other start-up supplies.
