Earlier this week, news surfaced that Rob Weland appeared to be opening a restaurant on Barracks Row. Now it's official — the Cork and Poste veteran will open Garrison at 524 8th St. NE.
The restaurant will aim to highlight seasonal and sustainable ingredients. A mid- to late summer opening is the goal.
Look for roasted meats, fish and veggies made in a wood-burning oven, plus vinegars, cultures, pastas and other items made in-house. Simple vegetable dishes and crudos will round out the menu. The chef will partner with One Acre Farm for produce.
Erin Mara is helping with the restaurant's design. They'll kick off with dinner and drinks, and eventually add brunch.
