Opening Alert: It's Arepa Time for LeDroit Park, Courtesy of The Royal

The new all-day spot from the Vinoteca team is officially open.

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

Ledroit Park residents can hang out from morning till night at The Royal, the newest cafe and restaurant from the Vinoteca team. It opens today at 501 Florida Ave. NW.

The Royal aims to be a coffee and lunch spot by day and a bar and casual restaurant in the evenings. It opens at 7 a.m. weekday mornings

Some culinary standouts for The Royal include shaved ice cocktails, homemade vermouth on draft, Nutella pinwheel pastries, breakfast arepas and several salads (including one interesting take on avocado). Some dishes have a Colombian influence, and they're grilling up items like morcilla sausage, squid and steak.

Walk inside The Royal and see a restored fireplace, old fashioned bar equipment, plenty of wood, a spacious bar and a loft-like second floor area.
