Magnolia's on King opens next Wednesday, and with it comes Southern fare and a pineapple chandelier.
The restaurant will seat 60 at 703 King Street, stretching over two floors. The space is designed by Studio Ideya: accents include a tropical ceiling fan, a pineapple chandelier and plants throughout the restaurant. There's also wine on the walls and a fireplace.
Chef Brian Rowe is doing the cooking, having previously worked at several Wolfgang Puck restaurants, including Spago. He'll prepare items like a sweet tea-brined buttermilk fried chicken, molasses crusted pork belly and bison meatloaf. Hans Fogleman will prepare the pastries, while Zachary Faden will prepare Southern-influenced cocktails.
