Landlord Tries To Evict Gypsy Soul; Matchbox Plans Expansion

MERRIFIELD— Washington Post reports Gypsy Soul's landlord is trying to evict the restaurant from Mosaic District. Owner R.J. Cooper and his wife and business partner Judith Cooper reportedly owe $277,790 according to the lawsuit. Cooper recently settled a similar eviction against his other restaurant, Rogue 24, just months ago. [WaPo]

EXPANSIONS Matchbox is now expanding to Texas. The owners plan to open the Dallas location of the chain in Preston Hollow Village in 2016. They also plan to open 48 restaurants nationwide by 2020. [EaterWire]
