Chef Will Artley is leaving BLT Steak.
Artley tells Eater that his last day at the restaurant will be July 1. "They are an incredible company to work for and have an amazing group of talented people there — just a great experience. Truly one of the best chef positions in the city," he said. He didn't share a specific reason for the departure.
At BLT Steak, Artley had the opportunity to enhance the restaurant's Wagyu beef program and work with seasonal ingredients like soft-shell crabs. Artley began working at BLT Steak in January.
Before Artley was at BLT, he spent several years at Falls Church restaurant Pizzeria Orso. Between the two gigs, he hosted a series of pop-up restaurant events, which he may do again this time around on Sundays (and consider guest chef gigs as well). Beyond that, he's still figuring out his next move.
Eater has reached out to BLT Steak for any details on a replacement.
