Talk about stomach issues waiting to happen. The D.C. tradition of downing a half-smoke while running a half-marathon continues this November, courtesy of the annual D.C. Half and Half race.
The event, now in its fifth year, encourages patrons to eat a full half-smoke (topped with chili, mustard and onions and served with chips) from the iconic Ben's Chili Bowl at the halfway point of the race. If participants can't finish it, they aren't allowed to finish the rest of the race.
The date has been set this year for November 8, but registration has not yet opened.
