The team behind Ripple and Roofers Union opened new wine bar Jug & Table last weekend. It occupies the space that was once Roofers Union's first floor. Sommelier Theo Rutherford is a veteran of Ripple, Rogue 24, Fiola and Café Dupont.
In keeping with the name, the bar offers jugs holding two bottles worth of wine for $20 to $25. There are 20 wines by the glass priced from $6 to $16. The bar also serves cocktails and a daily punch bowl created by Rutherford. Happy hour is from 5p.m. until 7p.m. daily.
Chef Marjorie Meek-Bradley's menu focuses on bar snacks, charcuterie and fancy grilled cheeses with fillings like goat cheese, lamb, roasted red peppers, mint pesto and bacon jam. The bar also has a large vinyl collection and two turntables provide music.
