Blackwall Hitch opens today in Alexandria, in the space the formerly housed the Torpedo Factory Food Pavilion on the Old Town waterfront.
The restaurant is Chesapeake-inspired and aims to be a "coastal tavern," according to a press release. Chef Michael Wagner is overseeing the menu, who has worked both in restaurants and as a private chef. Look for salads, a seafood-heavy appetizer list, flatbreads, steaks and soft-shells.
The restaurant has seating for 315 people, spread out over two levels; there's also a 105-seat patio, plus a second level deck with its own bar. They'll have live music there, too. There's a sister restaurant of the same name in Annapolis.
