Earlier this week, panic ensured after PoPville reported that Zenebech Injera could close. The Ethiopian restaurant, open since 1999, is on the proposed site of a new 110-unit building development on U Street.

But a representative of the restaurant assured Eater that nothing is certain yet. "It's going to take some time, like two to three years if it happens," he said. "We're taking it day by day." Eater also reached out to the architecture firm designing the building but received no response.
