D.C. is getting a Lao noodle house.
Khao Poon is a collaboration between chef Deth Khaiaphone, who recently hosted a pop-up noodle event and Chef Seng Luangrath, the chef behind Lao restaurants Bangkok Golden and Thip Khao. There's no location yet for the restaurant.
According to an email blast published on PoPville, the new place's name translates to "rice vermicelli noodles," and Lao noodle dishes with fresh and local ingredients will be the focus of the restaurant. They'll first host pop-up events as they work to secure a lease. The first one will take place on Tuesday, July 21 at Union Market.
The restaurant is holding a contest for the design of its logo. Eater has reached out for any additional information about the venture.
