Bandolero Closes in Georgetown

Mike Isabella used to be affiliated with the restaurant.

Mexican restaurant Bandolero has closed its doors in Georgetown.

The owner tells The Washington Post the lease was up and they decided it was time to close it. It's the third restaurant from restaurateur Jonathan Umbel to close in Georgetown; Tackle Box closed earlier this year and Hook closed several years back. Umbel had faced some legal issues with his landlord over the years, but told The Post the closure was unrelated to those past difficulties.

Celebrity chef Mike Isabella designed the opening menu for Bandolero, but parted ways with the restaurant in 2013. [UPDATED]
