Mu Ramen from Queens, New York is doing a pop-up in the area for two nights next month.
According to Instagram, it will take place at H Pho at 9546 Old Keene Mill Road in Burke, Va. Owner Joshua Smookler told Eater it's scheduled for Saturday, August 8 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, August 9 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. They're only making 260 portions of ramen for both nights, so seating will be limited and on a first-come, first-served bass.
The pop-up plans to offer four types of ramen along with appetizers like steamed clams with chorizo, okonomiyaki, and short rib buns (the menu is subject to change). There will also be a selection of Japanese craft beers like Ozeno Brown, Ozen White, Echigo Stout and Orion.
The ramen shop first gained a following last year as a pop-up operating after-hours inside a bagel shop. Smookler and his wife Heidy then opened a brick-and-mortar restaurant this year. They've received widespread acclaim for their creamy tonkotsu ramen.
A similar pop-up event drew huge crowds in Boston. Check out the tentative menu below.
