The Source is closing August 3 for major renovations to its lounge area. The rendering above shows what the new space will look like when it's completed later that month.
Some changes to the upstairs area of the restaurant have already begun. The space features new lighting fixtures and a dramatic new hot pot table for a hot pot tasting menu the restaurant plans to offer (Chef Scott Drewno says they may buy additional tables if the menu proves to be a popular choice).
The downtown space will have an open wok area and new seating and artwork. Designer Waldo Fernandez is redoing both areas of the restaurant. The menu is being reworked as well to have more of a Chinese bent. A recent media preview event showcasing the menu changes included such items as scallion pancake-influenced rolls, glazed duck, hot pot shrimp, King crab legs and lobster dumplings.
