1) Gaithersburg: A Silver Diner location has closed at the Lakeforest Mall. The owner tells the Sam Eig blog there just wasn't enough business there. There are still more locations to come in Waldorf, Bethesda and Frederick, and the company plans to extend staff offers to work at other locations.
2) U Street: The Saloon is taking its annual summer break. A sign notes they'll be closed from August 2 to September 9.
