Astro Doughnuts and Fried Chicken is aiming to open up its Falls Church location this Friday, with an expanded menu and room to sit down.
The 1,200 square foot shop at 7511 Leesburg Pike has seating for about 10 people, plus a flat top and a soda machine. The additional kitchen equipment means the menu will expand to include additional egg sandwich options, as well as tater tots.

Expect the same beloved doughnuts as the original Metro Center location, in flavors like black and white and creme brulee (the company's best seller "by far," co-owner Elliot Spaisman says; it's his favorite, too). They'll have monthly seasonal flavors such as peaches and cream, too.

The company decided to open in Falls Church after finding success with their food truck in the Tysons Corner market.
All the permits are in place for the restaurant, though they are still waiting on Internet. The goal is to have a soft opening Friday and throughout the weekend with limited hours and supply, with a grand opening next week. Hours will be Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. (they'll close at 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday).
Permanent signage should get installed later today.
