Old Angler's Inn unveiled a redevelopment plan for its seven and a half acre property in Potomac. On the restaurant's website, owners Sara and Mark Reges propose building a country inn (to accommodate just eight guests) and a small building for private events.
The message also indicates the Potomac institution has faced some challenges following the death of owner and matriarch Olympia Reges ten years ago. They write, "It is our belief that a boutique Inn will serve our community well and will allow us, as a business, to continue on to the next generation."
The restaurant, in operation since 1860, is one of the oldest in the D.C. area. The owners welcome input about their development plan, and community members can sign a petition in favor of it online or at the restaurant.
