Not gonna happen

Marriott is no longer getting a location of Mercadito. Washington Business Journal reports the restaurant group has nixed its plans to open a place in the Marriott Marquis hotel. Which means that hotel has a space for a marquee restaurant to fill.

Cake boss

Unsurprisingly, a business known for its cakes says that cakes are in and cupcakes are out. Reliable Source catches up with the owner of Fancy Cakes By Leslie, a Bethesda bakery known for providing cakes for political parties. [RS]

Court to Yelpers: Find a day job

Sorry, Yelpers. A court ruled users of the site are not unpaid employees, despite a class action lawsuit alleging as much. [E]

New regulations: fewer customers?

Food truck owners aren't too excited about the dedicated zones county officials are trying out in Rosslyn. They're claiming shorter lines and fewer customers in the new locations. [ARLNOW]
