A fundraising campaign dedicated to raising funds to help chef José Andrés with his legal battle with Donald Trump is up to more than $7,000 in funds.

The Indiegogo page was started about two weeks ago. At press time, 48 people had contributed to the campaign.

Spanish newspaper El Pais reports the page was started by Jorge Guajardo, a former diplomat.

Andrés decided in early July to nix his plans to open a restaurant in D.C.'s Trump Hotel, due to inflammatory comments the presidential candidate made about Mexican immigrants. Trump's team then decided to sue ThinkFoodGroup, Andrés' company, for $10 million. Celebrity Geoffrey Zakarian is facing a similar lawsuit after also pulling out of the project.

Meanwhile, an Arizona Congressmen is campaigning to keep Trump's name off his D.C. hotel project, due to his controversial statements.

Eater has reached out to ThinkFoodGroup and Trump's team for any comment on the fundraiser.
