President Barack Obama celebrated his birthday last night at D.C. hotspot Rose's Luxury. Several media outlets reported the event last evening.
First Lady Michelle Obama, an active diner in D.C. restaurants, first visited Rose's Luxury in February. Former President Bill Clinton Tweeted last night, encouraging the couple to order dessert:
Happy birthday, @POTUS! Hopefully when @FLOTUS isn’t looking you can have some cake. #44turns54
— Bill Clinton (@billclinton) August 4, 2015
Rose's Luxury, arguably D.C.'s hottest restaurant, has made several "best of" lists over the past year, including the National Eater 38 and Bon Appetit's Best New Restaurant lists. According to the reports, the President did not wait in Rose's notorious long line due to security concerns.
Rose's Luxury chef Aaron Silverman declined from discussing specifics of the meal in order to respect the party's privacy.
It's been a big dining week for the First Lady: she was spotted Monday evening dining at Erik Bruner-Yang's Maketto restaurant.
