SHIRLINGTON— Hula Girl has started a Kickstarter campaign to help defray construction costs for the upcoming brick and mortar restaurant. They're seeking to raise $35,000. [EaterWire]

FOGGY BOTTOM— Kaz Sushi Bistro is starting a Monday night sake class, beginning in October. Attendees will get to try seven different types of sake, along with izakaya food, and learn more about the beverage. The chef has been certified as a sake advisor. The class is $45 per person.
