PassionFish opens its second location at lunchtime today at 7187 Woodmont Ave. in Bethesda. The new seafood restaurant by chef Jeff Trunks is decorated in a palette of blues, tans and grays in keeping with the aquatic theme.
The Maryland restaurant will offer a more extensive selection of rolls. Think classics like rainbow rolls in addition to "K Pop" roll with tuna, yellowtail and kimchi sauce. Dedicated sushi chef Jonathan Goh has previously worked at Nobu in Miami and Hooked in Colorado.
The restaurant will still serve some of the dishes found at its Reston location, such as seared sea scallops and grilled whole branzino. Plans are in the works to launch weekend brunch next month.
This is the eighth restaurant from the Passion Food Hospitality group, which also operates such places as Fuego Cocina y Tequileria and D.C. Coast in addition to the Reston location of PassionFish that opened in 2008.
