District Winery, a Washington location of New York's Brooklyn Winery, is going to open at The Yards.
The winery will be in a new building that will be near Yards Park. It will sport a full-service restaurant, a wine tasting area, and room for private events (including a terrace). The space is 16,000 square feet. They'll start construction next spring and plan to open in fall 2017.
The winery is going to go after the wedding crowd for events business (Brooklyn Winery hosts a lot of weddings). This could be the first winery to open in D.C. proper.
