A Southern-Tinged Half-Smoke

Warning: there are pork rinds involved.

Starting tomorrow, Dirty South Deli and Logan Sausage Company are collaborating on a half-smoke unlike much (or, anything?) seen in the city thus far: the John Doe. This creation is a decidedly Southern take on DC's favorite sausage-eating method. The John Doe adds pimento cheese, vidalia onion chili, jalapeños and — of course — pork rinds to the half-smoke docket.

It's available from the Dirty South Deli truck, starting Tuesday and running all week. The truck will be parked at Union Station for launch, and will then roam the city.
