Mount Rainer, Maryland is getting a rare thing, reports Washington Business Journal: a new sit-down restaurant. When Bird Kitchen & Cocktails opens (which it hopes to next week), its full-service status will make it a neighborhood rarity — it's mostly surrounded by take-out venues. There's space for 50 inside, and an additional 50 split between the adjacent sidewalk cafe and backyard beer garden.
Chef Lenny Robinson — who was previously at Olney's now-closed Taste Gastropub — has crafted a menu that focused on modern Southern-style comfort food.
