A representative from Ladurée confirmed to Eater that the luxury bakery is indeed opening a location in D.C. Local macaron lovers have awaited the news ever since Ladurée US CEO Pierre-Antoine Raberin first mentioned the possibility of a D.C. location in an interview for The Daily Meal in 2012.

The fancy French import hasn't confirmed the location or anticipated opening date yet, but The Georgetown Metropolitan says it will open in the old Ritz Camera space at 3060 M St. NW in Georgetown.

Ladurée opened in Paris in 1862 and is now one of the most well-known bakeries in the world. It has over 50 locations worldwide, but the D.C. location will be only the fourth in the United States. There are currently two in New York and one in Miami.
