Barracks Roasts at Garrison, Chefs Behind Bars, and More

1) Barracks Roasts

What: Starting this week on Sunday nights, Garrison now offers a custom-roasted suckling pig or goat for parties of six to ten people. For $65 per person, it's served family style with sides like mac and cheese, baked apples, sauerkraut, and fruit cobbler for dessert. For an additional $10 per person, the bartender will create a custom punch or batched cocktail served by the pitcher. Reserve by calling the restaurant at (202) 506-2445.

2) Chefs Behind Bars

What: Sip on cocktails concocted by seven local chefs to benefit No Kid Hungry. A panel of expert judges will select a winner. Tickets ($40) and more information are available here.

3) Top Gun Night

What: Watch the movie while enjoying a Top Gun themed cocktail list and an unplugged set by Top Gun cover band Viper! Active-duty military and veterans receive a 10% discount on their tabs. Find more information here.

4) Sunday Supper with Author Forrest Pritchard

What: Listen to a presentation by Forrest Pritchard, author of Growing Tomorrow, about the importance of organic farming.  A three-course, family-style dinner ($35) will follow. It will highlight ingredients from Smith Meadows Farm and various Virginia producers and wineries. More information is available here.

5) Foie Festival

What: From January 13 through January 20, several restaurants on H Street are using foie gras to create dishes to compete for the Golden Duck trophy, decided by diners. Boundary Road has organized the event, but check out the full list of restaurants and dishes here.
