Inside Beard Papas' Georgetown Location, Where There Will Be Eclairs Galore

An opening could come early next week.

Fans of eclairs, cream puffs and other pâte à choux have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of dessert chain Beard Papas to Georgetown. The wait won't be for much longer. The location just passed its inspections and could open as early as Monday (though the inclement weather could also inspire a later opening).

The space is bright and colorful, with a yellow splash wall, drop lightings, logo art and wooden finishes. Photos of beckoning pastries accent the walls. Nobuko Pierce is managing the D.C. store. Here's a look at the chain's many pastry products.

The chain, which got its start in Japan and now has several U.S. locations (most of which are in California), revealed its plans to come here about a year ago. The new shop is located at 1336 Wisconsin Ave. NW.
