Fast-casual vegan chain HipCityVeg is expanding to D.C.

Their first location outside of Philadelphia will be in Chinatown at 712 7th Street NW. A spring opening is the goal.

HipCityVeg specializes in vegan fast food items like the Zippy Burger made with tempeh and the Crispy HipCity Ranch— a plant-based version of a fried chicken sandwich. There's even a vegan version of a cheesesteak on the menu.

Restaurateur Nicole Marquis has opened two locations of HipCityVeg since 2012. A third Philly location is now in the works in addition to the upcoming D.C. storefront.
