Jackie's Restaurant Will Close in Silver Spring

Eclectic Silver Spring-based restaurant Jackie's is closing its doors.

Owner Jackie Greenbaum says the decision to close the restaurant coincides with the opening of her upcoming Italian project, Little Coco's. Jackie's operated for 11 years at 8081 Georgia Ave. in Silver Spring; its bar, Sidebar, has also been a popular haunt for cocktail enthusiasts for years. Greenbaum is also behind such other restaurants as El Chucho, Slash Run and Bar Charley.

The closure is a few months off. In its last three months of business, they'll bring back some of their old dishes like mini-Elvis burgers and truffled cheese fries. They'll also host pop-up events and a big closing party.
