Springfield recently lost a barbecue restaurant. Wood Ranch BBQ & Grill has closed in the redeveloped shopping mall. Sales never met expectations for the chain; Washington Business Journal surmises its half steakhouse, half barbecue menu could have also confused customers. [WBJ]

Michelin mutterings

Everyone has an opinion on the recent Michelin Bib Gourmand announcements (the company’s version of cheap eats). Washington Post thinks Bad Saint was robbed of a star; Washingtonian has its own picks for the prize. Starred restaurants will be revealed later this week.
